A Decade of Discovery for Suomi-NPP
Since 2011, data from the instruments on board Suomi-NPP are providing the operational and science communities with valuable information to aid in the effective and timely prediction of weather around the world,
Since its launch on Oct. 28, 2011, the remarkable instruments on the Suomi-NPP satellite have captured a wealth of valuable data and beautiful images of our home planet. Suomi-NPP is the first of a series of polar-orbiting weather satellites known as the Joint Polar Satellite System, a mission to provide valuable weather and environmental data into the 2030s.
