As NASA begins planning to send humans to explore other locations throughout the solar system, Goddard Space Flight Center is developing instruments that could be used on another planet to conduct exploration and research. One such instrument is the mini-LHR (Miniaturized Laser Heterodyne Radiometer), and in this video, we see the HI-SEAS (Hawai'i Space Exploration Analog and Simulation) research crew carrying out a field test. Footage provided by NASA and HI-SEAS. Learn more about the mini-LHR instrument and HI-SEAS.
