NASA’s Artemis I Conclusion Sets the Stage for Future Moon Missions
Historic Moon Mission Prepares For Final Leg Of It’s Journey This WeekendNASA’s Orion spacecraft is nearing the end of a historic journey beyond the Moon this weekend. The spacecraft made one final close approach above the Moon’s surface on Monday, Dec 5th and fired its engines to set it on a course back to Earth. On Sunday, Dec. 11 at approximately 9:40 a.m. PST the Orion capsule will splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, marking the end of NASA’s first flight test of the new spacecraft and new Mega Moon rocket. Although uncrewed, the Artemis I mission has broken records and set the stage for a new era of crewed missions to the Moon and a long-term lunar presence.
