GOES East vs GMAO – Global True Color Imagery
Global GeoColor imagery comparison of geostationary satellite observations from GOES-R (left) and simulated radiation bands from the Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) model (right). The GeoColor multispectral imagery is composed of True Color (using a simulated green component) during daytime, and an Infrared bands at night. This animation covers week 2 of the 2024 Hazardous Weather Testbed Spring Forecast Experiment.
